Currently, I’m unemployed, as I have finally attained retirement. By “unemployed” I mean that I don’t have to be up at 5 am and work 40-60 hours a week. On the other hand, I have commitments and projects that consume 60-80 hours a week. Fortunately, all of them are subject to only my priorities. No bosses.

These days, I provide financial and investment advice to individuals and small businesses. I also serve on the Boards of several non-profit organizations, and have been an active member of the Sealy Lion’s Club for almost 30 years. And, finally, in my spare time, I am also actively pursuing “the business” of cattle ranching.

My acquaintance with the Chamber goes back to when I owned AL&M Building Supply. At that time, through the Chamber and my position on its Board, I made many valuable business contacts and received suggestions and encouragement for changes that were later implemented with satisfying success. Following my twenty-year tenure with AL&M, the business continues to thrive in the hands of my daughter Alison Peterman Korell and her husband Mark.

Before getting involved with the lumber business, I spent over two decades in corporate offices of Shell Oil, a felicitous consequence of my graduate education at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. My responsibilities and positions were varied, but all in the field of finance. My undergraduate studies were in Slovenia where I was born.

The Sealy community has been very good to me and I am grateful for that. Which is the reason why I am pleased to support the Sealy Chamber of Commerce and work on the Board.
