Following a 14-year career in education both in Texas (9 of those years right here at Sealy High School as a teacher and school counselor) and internationally in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, Courtney Avila pivoted into the marketing space in the summer of 2021. With a fresh perspective and aptitude in strategy, systems and processes improvement, the people-side of the business, and an undeterred passion for making lasting change: she has spent her first year at APEX Stone® honing her skills as the Marketing & Employee Engagement Director. 

Courtney’s spirit for building and bettering is woven into the fabric of her being. Her drive, attention to detail, ambition, vibrancy, and creativity have complimented APEX Stone®’s big goals to better the world around them via exceptional experiences and amplifying the humanness of business. An adept communicator, her experience in relationship-building and solution-focused problem solving has allowed her to contribute immensely to project and people management. Courtney has found her niche as an instigator for good in the midst of a record-growth year. 

A mama of 3 small kiddos, Courtney is most frequently found at a sports venue serving as their number 1 fan. She loves chips and queso, margaritas, and twirling around the dance floor with her husband, Jose. She also enjoys camping, non-fiction novels, and crime documentaries that will prepare her for her dream career in the CIA in her next lifetime. Courtney is thrilled to serve on the Board of Directors to assist in magnifying business and economic growth in our community!
