Improving Your Facebook Algorithms: A Guide

Facebook's algorithm is responsible for determining which posts appear in a user's news feed and in what order. While the algorithm is constantly changing, there are some ways to improve your chances of appearing in front of your target audience.

  1. Post regularly: Facebook's algorithm prioritizes posts from pages that are active and engaged with their audience. Try to post once a day and at times when your audience is most active. A quick search can help you to determine what time is best to post for your industry.
  2. Engage with your audience: Encourage your audience to like, comment, and share your posts. The more engagement a post receives, the more likely it is to appear in front of a wider audience. Using a heart, caring, wow face etc. take more effort than a "like" and rank higher. When people comment always write back. This keeps them engaged and more comments helps your ranking.
  3. Like and share from your personal page: As soon as you post on your business page go onto your personal page and like, comment, and share. This gets the algorithm going. Also, no one likes to be the first to comment so break the ice!
  4. Use video content: Videos tend to receive higher engagement compared to other types of content, and Facebook's algorithm prioritizes video content. Try to incorporate videos into your content strategy, whether it's a live video, a product demo, or a tutorial.
  5. Utilize Facebook Groups: Creating and participating in Facebook groups relevant to your business can help increase visibility and drive engagement. Groups also provide an opportunity to connect with potential customers and build relationships. Share your posts to groups to get more engagement and views.
  6. Make use of Facebook Insights: Facebook Insights is a tool that provides data on your page's activity, audience demographics, and engagement. Use this information to understand what content is resonating with your audience and adjust your strategy accordingly.
  7. Experiment with different types of content: The Facebook algorithm is always changing, so it's important to keep experimenting with different types of content. Try out different formats like carousels, polls, and quizzes to see what resonates with your audience.
  8. Mix up your Content: Educating, fun, memes, polls... switching them up will keep up your engagement. Use a program like Business Suite (there are many others) to schedule your posting ahead of time for the week and onto multiple platforms.
  9. Avoid clickbait: The Facebook algorithm penalizes pages that use clickbait tactics, such as misleading headlines or overly sensational content. Focus on creating valuable, informative content that provides real value to your audience.

In conclusion, improving your Facebook algorithm is about creating valuable content and engaging with your audience. By following these tips, you can increase the visibility of your posts and reach a wider audience. However, it's important to remember that the Facebook algorithm is constantly evolving, so it's essential to stay up-to-date and adjust your strategy accordingly.
